Canadians Can Now Start Canada-based Campaigns on Kickstarter

Kickstarter is almost everyone's favourite crowdfunding site, at least among those living in the US. Unfortunately, Canadians haven't been able to launch projects on the site without convoluted workarounds.

Back in June we revealed that Kickstarter had plans to launch in Canada "this summer." Well, as of today Canadians can start building their campaigns in their home country.

While Canadians can craft the details of their campaign, however, they cannot yet launch said campaign. That feature will unlock on Monday, September 9, according to Kickstarter, which gives Canadians just over a month to prepare.

Kickstarter says it is coming to Toronto and Montreal next week for meetups and project workshops. The events happen in Toronto on August 8 and August 9, and in Montreal on August 12 and August 13.
