Launch It Networking Event Draws a Big Crowd

Posted by Victoria Revay on Wed, April 15, 2009 9:42 PM · Filed under Vancouver , Web 2.0, Events, Social Media · 1 Comment

I was a guest at Launch It this evening at Heritage Hall on Main St.  The event was in support of Dress for Success and was sold out.  There were more than 130 business entrepreneurs who mingled, shared startup story ideas and listened to the panel of local, female-led and business entrepreneurs.  I had a chance to speak to Crystal Henrickson from Yelp! and managed to swap a few words with Tamara Brooks's sister (from October 17 Media).  Overall, the social media panel was the main draw to the event (as it seems a trend).  Most non-technology-based businesses wanted to know how to use social media for marketing, connecting with their target audience and to make more money.  The event was well organized–thanks to Jenna Herbut for the invite and all her help.
