Lavalife to award $5000 for best online love story

Posted by Techvibes NewsDesk

Even though Valentine's Day has long passed, there is always time to talk about love.  And with the weather in my hometown of Toronto feeling springlike, I thought, "What better time to talk about love than now!"  Especially, if it involves the internet and $5000.  lll

And no, sorry to disappoint you but this is not about porn.  We're talking about the "other" profitable online business:  the dating site.  Specifically, Lavalife which has declared itself Canada's leading online dating site.

Lavalife recently announced their new "Share the Love" contest.  This contest is an opportunity for former (we hope!) Lavalife members to share their online success story of how they met their true love. Cue the violins.

The contest calls all Lavalife members who found love online to write about their love story and post a photo of themselves.

Lavalife members, their friends, family and romantics everywhere are encouraged to log onto Lavalife (www.lavalife.com/sharethelove) to vote for their favourite love story. The story that receives the most votes could win $5,000.

However, you don't need to have used Lavalife successfully to be eligible to win a prize:  Voters also have the opportunity to receive $1,000 just for casting a vote!

Jason Sikora is the Chief Marketing Officer for Lavalife:

We are thrilled to introduce our first Share the Love competition.  The truth of the matter is that everyone knows someone who has found love on Lavalife. This competition is about celebrating the success of our members. We want to make it known that Lavalife is an online dating website that gives singles the tools to find everything they are looking for in online dating - from a fling to a date to their soul mate.

Story submission for the Share the Love competition ends March 15 and voting will end March 31st, when the winner is announced.

Share or vote and check out full contest details at www.lavalife.com/sharethelove for full contest details. No purchase necessary for participation, except for your love.
