Carrie & Danielle, Inc. is a lifestyle media company built on the personal brand of its founders, Carrie McCarthy and Danielle LaPorte. Carrie and Danielle’s first book, Style Statement: Live By Your Own Design (Hachette/Filipacchi) will be in stores in April and is supported by a major publicity campaign and North American book tour. We’re building a social media site to complement the book and need an experienced and talented Lead Developer to join our team. This position is one of the most important hires we’ll make since the Lead Developer will have overall responsibility for the architecture of the site. We need someone with experience building successful large-scale consumer Internet sites, and who is able to build, lead and grow a development team for the long term. We’re looking for talent first and foremost, so while we’re planning on using Rails or Django, we’re looking to you to help us make the correct and most efficient platform choices. It goes without saying but we’ll say it anyway that we’re all about agile development, usability and meeting deadlines rather than packing our application with unnecessary features. We’re well funded, based in beautiful Vancouver, Canada, and are willing to relocate the right person. Competitive salary, benefits and stock-based compensation are all on offer. To apply, please send resumes to dan at carrieanddanielle dot com, including detailed descriptions of your contribution to the websites and applications with which you’ve been involved.
