Local Portland Tech Start-up Coverage

Posted by Rob Lewis on Mon, February 11, 2008 3:37 PM · Filed under Portland · 2 Comments

Techvibes Media Inc. is pleased to welcome our first blog contributor South of the Border. Rick Turoczy will be reporting on the local tech start-up community in Portland, Oregon. Turoczy is the author of Silicon Florist - a blog that covers small start-ups, blogs, and events in Portland (a.k.a. the Silicon Forest). Sounds like a great fit! Turoczy was recently profiled and interviewed on Portland on Fire - a daily discovery of PDX people.

Rick Turoczy has worked in Portland high-tech marketing communications roles for more than a dozen years, focusing on making the obtuse and arcane seem—well—simple. His corporate-side stints have included work for companies like MedicaLogic, ProSight, and Digimarc. But he has spent some time on the other side of the desk, as well. And, has run his own consulting gig, Return, since 2006.

Welcome aboard Rick!

Thank you very much for the kind welcome... and the opportunity. I'm really looking forward singing the praises of the Portland startup scene.

And, I'm always looking for guidance from the readers. So, please, don't be shy with the comments. Good or bad.

Welcome on board, Rick. Portland seems to be a really vibrant place for start-ups these days and I would love to hear updates more from there. Looking forward to your posts!
