Mapvertising on MapQuest

Earlier today Vancouver-based (and Techvibes upstairs neighbour) IDELIX Software Inc. announced a partnership with AOL's MapQuest in a trial of their lat49 ad-serving API. Lat49 is the online mapvertising system that brings geographically relevant advertising to users of online maps. The ad service takes advantage of the rich Ajax environment and serves on-map display ads that change as the user navigates.

In this trial implementation, advertisers will be able to target MapQuest's Gas Prices portal geographically. Lat49 ads will be displayed on the MapQuest portal that provides consumers with current gas prices at more than 100,000 stations across the US, as well as the location of stations offering diesel and alternative fuels, gas saving tips and more.
