Mark your calendars: RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook launches April 19
Waterloo-based tech titan Research in Motion has unveiled the release date for its enterprise-savvy BlackBerry PlayBook.
RIM will launch the device in more than 20,000 retail stores across North America on Tuesday, April 19.
The tablet is expected to be a hit with enterprises, much like its BlackBerry smartphones, but will have a tough time competing neck-to-neck against Apple's iPad 2, with launches in Canada this Friday.
The device will have three models: a 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB model, which will cost $500, $600, and $700 respectively. This storage capacity range and price range parallels precisely with the iPad.
Shares in RIM are up only slightly on the news.
