Mayor David Miller launched City of Toronto's open data website today

Mayor David Millar kicked off the Toronto Innovation Showcase with the luanch of Toronto's open data website Today at 9:00.

Open data is about making information publicly available and accessible, without restrictions, for people to use. (Vital in the age of information that we live in today.)

The Innovation showcase is being hosted by the City of Toronto at City Hall. This is a free two day expo for those who want to converse around strengthing democracies and making government more transparent. This is an event that takes a look at how government and others are using connecting with the people and groups they serve in many instances due to technology and the new doors that it has opened in allowing organizations to connect with relevant audeinces.
