Mayor Miller joined us at Mobile Innovation Week this morning to talk about Mobile Innovation and the landscape in Toronto, He says, "It isn't about the stats, it is about the future. Mobile represents an incredible opportunity for innovation and Toronto is progressing towards being a mobile world leader." He goes on to say that Torontonians have changed the way they want to access their government that has led to The City of Toronto developing Mobile311, for example. Later this month The City of Toronto is launching www.toronto.ca/open (I believe he made this same announcement in May at MESH, not sure if there was a delay in the project).

Text the word toronto to 51051 if you would like to receive YOUR VERY OWN COPY of the Proclamation of Mobile Innovation Week.

The Mayor was followed by a talk on mobile marketing from Mike Wehrs, the President and CEO of the Mobile Marketing Association - his first time in Canada.

Also: The Mayor has someone that delivers him coffee in a travel mug.
