Michael Smit has joined Vancouver's Invoke Media as chief executive officer.
Smit joins Invoke via Academy, an interactive marketing agency and content development studio that he founded five years ago.
“Invoke has been a pioneer in the digital industry for years, blending product innovation with creative strategy for brands,” Smit said. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work with their talented team and break new ground in the interactive space.”
Smit has 15 years of experience in Europe and North America as a strategist and creative leader of integrated digital marketing, interactive TV, mobile, social media, and retail campaigns for global brands such as Nike, Jordan Brand, Unilever, Microsoft, and Starbucks. His arrival accompanies Invoke’s recent launch of Invoke Labs, a separate incubation company that focuses on developing products.
