Microsoft Sales Xbox One Sales Have Doubled Since It Separated the Console from Kinect

by Techvibes NewsDesk

Since launching the Xbox One for $100 less but without Kinect in early June, Microsoft says sales of the next-generation gaming console have "more than doubled."

Actual figures weren't released, however, with the company merely saying it was internal data based on retail calendar and sold through numbers comparing May to June.

Sony's PlayStation 4 has sold well over eight million units, while the Xbox One has sold fewer than five million.

Microsoft also announced plans to lay off 18,000 employees worldwide, including hundreds involved in the Xbox division.
