Microsoft is once again launching its Blue Sky competition for developers with ground breaking software. Any application made in Canada is eligible for entry, providing some Microsoft technology was used to build it.

The winner of the Blue Sky award will receive a variety of products and assistance from Microsoft. The more interesting items in the prize pack include software licenses, early access to new technology, a published case study, access to investors, and the use of Microsoft technology centers. The winner will also receive a great deal of promotion from Microsoft and other news media.

The 2008 winner of the Blue Sky award was Site Masher, a Vancouver based startup developing a new website building environment.
