BIV's Curt Cherewayko had an interesting story online yesterday. Parminder Singh, the Managing Director of Microsoft’s Development Centre in Richmond, has departed and is pursuing other business opportunities, including moving a Seattle startup to Vancouver.

Singh has been in charge of the centre since it opened in 2007 and told BIV that he left Microsoft because he had accomplished what he had set out to do and wanted to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities. According to Singh he left Microsoft on friendly terms and is considering a number of opportunities, including moving Seattle-based Evenio Media, a company he founded in 2005, to Vancouver. Singh is also in informal discussions about taking a leadership role with one of a number of young ventures.
