Microsoft's Windows Phone Marketplace Now Has 50,000 Apps

Posted by Techvibes NewsDesk

Microsoft now has 50,000 apps available for download in its Windows Phone Marketplace. This marks a growth of nearly 10,000 apps in the past month.

The Marketplace is puny compared to Apple's App Store for its iOS platform with well over 500,000 apps. It's also puny compared to Google's Android Market with nearly 400,000 apps. But its growth has been accelerating.

17,000 Windows Phone apps were added in the past 90 days but 8,000 of those - almost half - were added in the past 30 days. Roughly 13,000 publishers are in the marketplace for an average of about 4 apps per.
