Mike Agerbo, the CEO of Blink Mediaworks and one of the hosts of GetConnected TV (seen on BNN and G4/TechTv) delivered the breakfast keynote presentation at the Vancouver SOHO conference today. Agerbo hammered home the importance of online video to small businesses, with over 88 percent of broadband users and over 42 percent of the U.S. population clicking on videos at present and further growth projected for the near future. Agerbo pointed out that while the cost of video has plummeted, the reach online video can give to small businesses, along with the direct, engaging nature of the medium, makes it a perfect marketing solution. But video comes with a few caveats, such as making sure you target the specific audience you wish to reach, along with keeping presentation times as short as possible.
The key, Agerbo said, is targeting the sites that will get you the most views for the least amount of expenditure. Of course no presentation by Agerbo is complete without a rundown of the latest gadgets, and he pointed to network storage devices, remote access to home and office PCs, and smart USB drives as current trends sure to drive innovation in small business environments.
Nice coverage Warren. Agerbo knows his stuff. Where was AJ? Did he sleep in?
