Last night the Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) unveiled the winners of this year’s coveted Meffys awards in London, England and Calgary's Mob4Hire picked up the award for Innovative Business Model.

The Meffys, supported by Dolby, Buongiorno, Symbian, 7digital, MTS, Quickplay Media and Vodafone seek to honour the most influential players in the mobile entertainment industry from across the world.

This year’s awards saw seven new categories added to reflect industry trends and developments such as mobile applications, mobile commerce, new device formats and the escalation of cross-platform content and technology.

Mob4Hire has been on a roll of late. Last week they were highlighted in an Globe and Mail article titled The End of the Office which shared the stories of a number of start-ups that are avoiding real estate and operating virtually when possible.

Congrats to Stephen King and his team at Mob4Hire.
