Mobify welcomes new VP of Marketing and lululemon as a client

Posted by Rob Lewis

Yesterday Vancouver's Mobify announced that they had hired James Sherrett as their new Vice President of Marketing and that he would be responsible for leading all marketing efforts but most importantly to tell the Mobify story.

Not surprisingly Sherrett was in touch with Techvibes shortly after the announcement to spread the word on their most recent client win.

Techvibes readers will likely remember Sherrett's name. His AdHack startup was incubated at Bootup Labs and the business continues on auto-pilot now that he has joined Mobify.

And if you access Techvibes on your iPhone while on the go, then you definitely know Mobify. Techvibes has been using the free version of their Studio product since Mobify launched in 2008.

Sherrett should enjoy telling the Mobify story as it is a good one.

Founded by Igor Fatelski, John Boxall, and Peter McLachlan, the three year old company is now 20 employees strong. In 2009 Mobify competed in the New Ventures BC competition and finished in the Top 10 - an serious accomplishment at the time considering the competition's focus on life sciences and cleantech.

Earlier this month Mobify added lululemon to an impressive client list that includes Bonobos, Threadless, Conde Nast, and numerous other enterprise customers.

Hometown neighbour lululemon appears to be a particularly good fit for Mobify - they host weekly staff yoga classes at their growing office on Pender Street. With the lululemon e-commerce implementation Yogis worldwide can purchase their favorite yoga gear seamlessly from lululemon's mobile site.

Congrats to Sherrett on the new position at Mobify and on the yoga mat. Get on that iPhone and buy yourself a pair of tights to impress your new co-workers - shipping is free anywhere in North America.
