The 2009 TD Canada Trust Vancouver International Jazz Festival runs from June 26th to July 5th and a local mobile startup has been tagged with powering their mobile web presence.

XOMO Digital's new mobile social software will be powering the official mobile companion for the Jazz Fest, giving fans the ability to find out what's on near them during the festival, check out artists on iTunes and view stories from the festival posted in real time.

XOMO (short for "Experiences on Mobile") promises an evolution from User Generated Content (UGC) to real-time User Generated Experiences (UGX), where a person uses their location aware smart phone to capture and share a holistic group of digital assets direct from the point of experience.

XOMO Digital was founded by Ben West (former CIO of Stockhouse.com) and Jeff Sinclair (former CEO of The Level). The company's initial product is available for the iPhone and will soon be available on a range of other mobile devices including Blackberry.
