Mobilecamp Vancouver debates the role of the mobile web

Mobilecamp Vancouver, held last Saturday at Workspace, was a great gathering for those interested in discussing coding approaches to different mobile platforms, but it also proved to be a lightning rod for debate on wether the web is the ultimate mobile platform. Jeff Laporte of EQO argued that fledgling mobile developers should buy an iPhone and design their applications to webkit specs, but Jim Udall from Quick Mobile said current cell phones shouldn't be thought of as just miniaturized computers.
