Mobilicity Calls Out Nadir Mohamed, Darren Entwistle, and George Cope: You Make Too Much Money

In November, discount wireless carrier Wind Mobile launched an ad campaign which featured a full-page print ad with a big, bold header reading "Dear over-charged, under-appreciated, contract-loathing mobile phone customers." The daring ad was directly calling out Rogers, Telus, and Bell, although it didn't name them.

Now, Mobilicity has released a similar campaign that takes the Big Three bashing up a notch. The startup's full-page print ad opens with anti-corporate greed senitment.

The Big 3 wireless CEOs made a lot of money in 2010… and by a lot we mean a combined $22,788,361. Ever wonder where all your data overage fees went?

Mobilicity then urges consumers to "outsmart" the Big Three by getting unlimited talk, text, and data plans from $25 per month. Another ad in the campaign reads, "Canadians have some of the highest monthly wireless bills in the world. Maybe it's time to occupy the Big 3?"

A year ago, the discount carriers focused more strictly on the value they offered, avoiding any open conflict with the oligopoly. Lately, though, it seems their strategies are pivoting and place more emphasis on staining the Big Three's reputations.
