Mobilicity gains 'thousands' of new customers from National Break Your Wireless Contract Day

Saturday marked Mobilicity's (first annual?) National Break Your Wireless Contract Day. This one-day event saw the Canadian wireless startup offer people $200 for porting over from other carriers.

It looked to be a tremendous success. "Thanks to the thousands of the new customers who joined us today," tweeted CEO Dave Dobbin. "We're glad you've decided to make the switch!"

There were apparently lineups at Mobilicity stores over this generous offer, causing Dave to state the obvious: "I guess people hate contracts!"
