Mobilicity is following up its December deals with a New Year offering: free unlimited data.

The startup discount wireless carrier says that the promotion provides “unsurpassed value” on the company’s quest to “bring down the cost of wireless in Canada.” For a limited time, customers can add a free unlimited data addon to Mobilicity’s $45 talk and text plan. Customers can also opt for free unlimited email and social networking on a $35 talk and text plan. Or, if really strapped for cash, customers can choose to add free unlimited social networking to a $25 talk and text plan.

The company is also enticing consumers to switch carriers with a $50 port-in credit promotion:

For a limited time, consumers who port their existing phone number to Mobilicity and register for pre-authorized credit card payment will receive $10 credits over five months.
