Moby's private location sharing now available on Android

Vancouver-based Contigo announced this week that their Moby location sharing app is now available on Android devices.

The product is essentially identical to the iPhone version and now users can share their location across both platforms. This is great for families that have a mix of iPhone, BlackBerry and Android devices, both within their family as well as their close friends.

Unlike Apple's Find My Friends app and Google Latitude, Moby is focusing on facilitating private location sharing for families as a safety measure rather than simply connecting friends for social interactions.

Moby is available for free download now in the Android Market.
