MoMoVan's coming up November 1st

Next Monday is the first Monday of the month, and you know what that means: time for another edition of Mobile Monday Vancouver!

As usual, the event is free to DigiBC members, and a beer and pizza will be provided. The open forum event will feature networking and contact-making opportunities for digital media and wireless industry professionals.

This week’s event promises lots of content. Forum Nokia in California is looking for Canadian innovators and Martin Barclay [pictured] will be here offering prizes and training.

Also, Joseph Luk from ika mobile will show you how just about any Android user can disable ads from the major ad networks, across all apps, and what rooting and re-flashing mean today for users, developers, and the Android platform.

As well, there will be a panel discussion called “Access to capital – Where is the money?” The discussion will feature:

  • Simon Backer, CEO of Wireless Image
  • Divesh Sisodraker, a partner with Vanedge Capital, one of Canada’s largest digital media venture capital firms
  • David Raffa, COO and founding partner of Lions Capital Corp., a boutique investment bank
  • Glen Sampson, ITA (a.k.a. "Business Advisor") at National Research Council

So come on down the Granville Island Brewery (1441 Cartwright Street) and don’t miss out! MoMoVan will be held November 1st from 6–8:30 p.m. For more information or to register click here.
