Montreal Startupper named to Top Quebecer list

by Rob Lewis | Business

This week the Montreal Gazette named 24 Quebecers we love and Montreal Start Up's John Stokes made the cut.

John Stokes is an angel investor who came to Montreal from Asia and in 2007 cofounded venture capital firm Montreal Start Up, which has funded many new tech companies. His most recent venture, however, is a boost to techies and heritage lovers alike. His organization, and several others, are purchasing the 19th-century Notman House on Sherbrooke St. W. near St. Laurent Blvd., which has lain abandoned for 19 years. The home will become a meeting spot for students, entrepreneurs and investors.

Great to see Stokes included on a list dominated by professional athletes and Olympians.
