Montreal's Notman House gets half-million dollar grant for tech hub conversion

Montreal's executive committee recently approved a half-million dollar grant to some of Montreal's tech community leaders so that they can purchase the Notman House and transform it into the city's tech hub.

The leaders, which form a group called OSMO Montreal, includes venture capital firm Startup Montreal.

More funding is required still, however - OSMO needs both federal and provincial grants, as well as money from the private sector.

OSMO's offer to purchase the building from the Societe en commandite Milton was recently accepted. But while funding efforts continue, the building is being rented.

Do you think this is a positive move for Montreal's tech community?
