Montreal's Ooomf Becomes Crew and Raises $2.1 Million

Montreal's Crew announced today it has raised a $2.1 million round led by Fred Destin of Atlas Venture.

Crew, formerly known as Ooomf, is an on-demand network connecting short-term mobile and web projects with handpicked developers and designers.

A FounderFuel grad, Ooomf was originally an app discovery startup and the name change was also part of today's announcement.

Crew vets each mobile and web project submitted and connects them with the right designer or developer in less than a day. Over $3 million in short-term projects have been approved and matched in the last year.

Crew connects vetted, creative projects with a community of handpicked designers and developers who have done work for companies like Hotel Tonight, Dropbox, and Square. Based in Montreal, with part of the team working remotely, Crew has raised $14M CAD from Accomplice (formerly Atlas Venture), iNovia Capital, Real Ventures, Boldstart Venture Capital, BDC Capital, AngelList, Launch Capital, LDV... more
