Motorola Xoom now available in Canada. But not really

Motorola's 10-inch Xoom tablet, the first device in Canada running Android 3.0 Honeycomb, is available in our fine country.

But if you didn't pre-order it through Best Buy or Future Shop, this launch date means nothing yet, as the devices are currently sold out. The $600 device is "Out of stock" and "will ship when available," but no date is offered.

It seems that good tablets are in high demand and with low supply. Apple's iPad is "in stock" online, but doesn't ship for two to three weeks.

RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook launches across North America April 19, and hopefully will have sufficient supply after watching other companies' under stock retailers out of the gate.
