Multimedia Specialist - STEMCELL Technologies

STEMCELL Technologies Inc. is a leading supplier of specialized products for life science research. We have an immediate opening in our Creative Communications Department for a Multimedia Technologist. The successful candidate is a passionate expert in motion design and video production, capable of communicating highly technical and scientific content with style and concision.

Duties:

• Create educational and corporate multimedia content including: commercials, interviews, product tours, technical support demos, webinars, interactive advergames, animated online ads
• Perform all post-production work using standard digital editing techniques, including: raw footage cutting and processing; complex motion graphics; visual and sound effects; music selection; 2D animation; integration of 3D models and animation into 2D environments
• Provide technical and artistic support to diverse stakeholders including Project Managers, Product Managers, and Scientists in developing scripts, storyboards, video templates, and style guides
• Effectively collaborate with Project Managers and Graphic Designers to produce video and multimedia content in stylistic adherence and strategic alignment with the corporate brand
• Acquire sound and picture by operating prosumer-grade equipment: video camera, microphone, lights, backdrops
• Custodian of all multimedia inventory, responsible for maintaining hardware equipment and organizing digital files

Qualifications:

• Fluent in English with solid ability to articulately discuss ideas with stakeholders of various roles and backgrounds
• Recent industry experience in producing educational and videos targeted to an academic or corporate audience
• Applies principles of visual communication in transmitting technical information and illustrating sequence of events
• Possesses artistic style, eye for composition, strong sense of timing, and impeccable attention to detail
• Thorough knowledge in DVD authoring, web publishing, optimization for playback compatibility and streaming quality
• Well-versed in Web 2.0 and familiar with social networks as applied to advertising
• Proven skills in hand illustration, storyboarding, script-writing, film direction
• Diploma or degree in digital multimedia, film, or animation
• Experience in managing dynamic web content using HTML, JavaScript, and ActionScript much preferred
• Formal training in traditional fine art, photography, advertising, and communications much preferred

Required Software:

• Advanced knowledge and experience with the Adobe CS3 on PC platform, including: Premiere, After Effects, Soundbooth, Encore, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
