Canadian Cloud Council Founder Joins Kleiner Perkins Backed Nebula as Managing Director for Canada

by Techvibes NewsDesk

Robert Hart, Founder of Canadian Cloud Council and The Politburo, has just joined Silicon Valley’s Nebula as Managing Director for its Canadian operations after the recent acquisition of The Politburo by GlobalWorx in July.

The Politburo was named one of the top 25 most innovative companies in Alberta by Alberta Venture prior to the acquisition.

Founded by the former CTO of NASA and Co-founder of OpenStack, Chris C. Kemp, Nebula enables any business to easily, securely, and inexpensively build and manage their own private cloud, one that's even easier to use than a public cloud.

“Our goal is to make big data and large scale computing accessible to every business in the world,” said Kemp. “The Canadian technology landscape is about to embark upon a rapid sea change and we are excited to be leading this revolution.”

Nebula raised a Series B round last fall from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Comcast Ventures, Highland Capital Partners and Innovation Endeavors, as well as Andy Bechtolsheim, David Cheriton and Ram Shriram (Google's first investors).

“Canada has been a great market for Nebula and we've barely scratched the surface here," said Hart. "Our aim is to disrupt and democratize the cloud ecosystem in Canada. Using Nebula anyone will be able to deploy highly scalable cloud infrastructure similar to those run by major enterprises such as Google or Facebook."

Nebula will host an invite only CIO event called Ignite in Calgary and Edmonton on September 17th and 18th. Contact for more information.
