Netflix Launches in Canada for $7.99/month

NetflixToday, Reed Hastings, chief executive of Netflix announced the launch of Netflix.ca in Canada. Mr. Hastings announced that Netflix will cost a mere $7.99 per month for the streaming service. Canadian subscriptions will include unlimited access from major film studios such as MGM Studios, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, and Universal Pictures.

You get access to stream more than 7,000 movies and television shows from anywhere that has an internet connection. For Canadians, Netflix’s Instant streaming extends the content to via blu-ray players, Sony’s Playstation 3 and Nintendo’s Wii.

Apple aficionados, Netflix will also be available on the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV.

Just in case you’re wondering, Netflix stock is up 4.8% today in a slightly down market, hitting a new high of 154.22.
