Netflix will cross border to Canada this year

Netflix announced today that it will be expanding its online subscription video-on-demand service to Canadians this fall and delivering movies and TV episodes to televisions and computers North of the border.

Similar Internet online programming services are being rolled out by several Canadian companies, particularly Quebecor's Videotron and Rogers Communications.

Canada will be the first country outside of the United States where Netflix will offer its streaming-only service. At the time of launch, the Netflix Canadian service will be available in English only, but the company said it expects to add French language capability over time.
