New CEO Tim Cook to host his first Apple media event: Get ready for the iPhone 5 on October 4th

AllThingsD is confident that Tuesday, October 4th is the day Apple will hold its next media event, and what an event it will be.

This is the day that Apple is expected to announce the imminent launch of its next-generation iPhone. Also likely to be mentioned are iPod updates and new iOS 5 and iCloud information.

The event will be the first one held by now-CEO Tim Cook, who took over the role from COO after Steve Jobs stepped down. The pressure to perform is on, but judging by Apple's stock since Steve left, investors aren't too worried about Tim's ability to continue the legacy.
