It’s no exaggeration to say the iPhone has completely redefined the mobile space. Even in Canada, traditionally a mobile backwater, mobile carriers have been forced to up their game in order to compete and match the capabilities of Apple’s juggernaut. New Media BC has recognized the opportunity presented by iPhone development, and is hosting the Vancouver iPhone Forum 2009 on November 24th. Corporate attendees will include Apple, Bell, BCIT and the CBC, which recently released a first-class app allowing users to listen to live streams of all three Radio services as well as on-demand audio content.
Local game developer Genius Factor Games, Simply Computing, Mobo Identity Systems and Wavefront will also attend the one-day forum, as will Techvibes. . Bell, which only recently announced it will carry the iPhone, is sponsoring the event. THe forum will feature keynote speakers from Apple and the CBC, as well as technical and business sessions.
Registration for the one day event is $125 for NMBC members and $200 for non-members, and students can egister for $75 by emailing proof of post-secondary enrolment to email@example.com. For more info, go to NMBC.
