New Media BC swallows eLearning BC

New Media BC announced it's formal merger with eLearning BC this morning. While New Media BC has always represented the technology for learning sector the existence of eLearning BC as a niche provider represented the very specific concerns of companies and individuals operating in that space. Those concerns will continue to be serviced through a targeted New Media BC initiative with former eLearning BC directors at it's helm.

As forms of digital media and the Web continue to increase their scope, reach and impact on organizations of all types and the knowledge-based workplace's requirements for talent, skills, creativity and engagement grow, NMBC’s merger with eLBC is a strategic initiative to enhance NMBC's role as a catalyst for meeting those requirements.

"We're excited to welcome the board and members of eLearning BC into the New Media BC family." Says Kenton Low, President of NMBC. "This merger strengthens our collective voice representing all aspects of digital media, provides increased resources for existing New Media BC members and gives NMBC in house access to subject matter experts in the expanding technology for learning sub-sector of digital media."

eLearning should be much better represented across the province by New Media BC than through a separate organization. An open house to welcome their newest members is planned for April. Stay tuned to the New Media BC website for details.
