Facebook acquires Drop.io

In a statement, Facebook announced that Drop.io CEO Sam Lessin, who attended Harvard University alongside Mark Zuckerberg, is joining Facebook full-time. Drop.io's service will be shut down.

Sam helped Mark meet venture capitalists and finance executives six years ago, according to base-on-a-true-story book "The Facebook Effect."

"We can confirm that we recently completed a small talent acquisition for Drop.io and acquired most of the company's assets," the Facebook statement. "We're thrilled that Sam Lessin will be joining us at Facebook."
