Oracle reveals Mark Hurd's salary

Amidst threats to sue from former employer HP, Oracle has announced Mark Hurd will make $950,000 annually on salary. But that's just the beginning: bonuses will amount to as much as $10 million more. Not sure what he can accomplish that 100 talented folks wouldn't do for $100,000 each, but oh well, guess we'll see.

UBC study confirms stereotypes of young male CEOs

A study performed by the University of British Columbia, published today, reports that young, male CEOs fall into that stereotype of testosterone-fuelled brashness. The study suggests that these youthful stallions are more likely to try and conquer other firms through acquisition, and also more likely to do so by hostile takeover. But they'll also swing the other way, as the study found them considerably more likely (than their older counterparts) to withdraw their bids on mergers and acquisitions.
