No more followers on Twitter

Now that you have no more friends, what are you going to do?  Will you attempt to have more friends than Barak Obama?  Maybe you'll try calling (using a mobile device or that thing called a phone) a "real" friend?  

These are some of the questions many people are asking at this time. Why?

Seems like there is a bug in Twitter that has re-set your (and mine) follow/following list to zero. 

Here's what the official Twitter handle of Twitter had to say:

Follow count display is set to 0 and follow/unfollow is temporarily offline while we fix a bug. (source)

What are your thoughts?  Are people taking Twitter too seriously when it comes to the status of how many followers they have?  We would love to hear your thoughts!
