Nova Scotia Tourism “Augments” Cabot Trail [Video]
Augmented Reality (AR) is becoming more and more popular as of late, with businesses looking to increase customer interaction with their products. It would seem that Dartmouth-based Ad-Dispatch is on the leading edge of this technology. Their most recent project is a more local one, one commissioned by Nova Scotia Tourism.
The Nova Scotia Tourism app will push the envelope of AR apps. For use at trade shows, the app will overlay a large map of the famous Cabot Trail in Cape Breton.
According to Ad-Dispatch, the experience is “completely immersive." Using an iPad, users are able to zoom in and explore the entire Cabot trail, including whales, eagles, and even cars pulled over at famous look offs.
