Privately held project management solution company, Expesite, which is run out of Columbus, Ohio announced today the acquisition of VisionFM, a Canadian based facilities management and asset management software company.  According to company reps, the acquisition of VisionFM is a key part of the strategic evolution of the company's offerings in the context of real estate development and facilities management.

According to Jeff Sopp, CEO of Expesite:

We are excited to bring VisionFM's team, clients and solutions into the Expesite family. Vision's cutting edge Facility and Asset Management solutions are a perfect fit for the continued growth and development of our platform offering. This acquisition will not only increase Expesite's market share, but it will also provide our clients with a unified view for project management and facilities management. Today marks Expesite's evolution from a project centric platform to a program centric platform.

Chris Dodds, President of VisionFM, noted that,

Our solutions are complementary to those of Expesite, and together we can offer a robust Integrated Workplace Management System for both existing and new clients of Expesite and VisionFM.

For the past four years, Expesite has maintained its standing among Inc. 5000's fastest growing companies in the U.S. The company's financial strength has made it well positioned to invest in technologies that extend its current platform offerings.

Interestingly enough, the acquisition of VisionFM marks Expesite's second acquisition in two years. The first acquisition took place in 2009, with the acquisition of Report Hawk, a Software as a Service (SaaS), which provides daily job reports and weekly reporting solutions for General Contractors.
