On December 16th - Socialize, create and develop, all in Toronto

Refresh Events is presenting yet again, three community offerings, all set to hit the digital media and tech community tomorrow, Wednesday December 16th.  What better way to start the holiday season than with an intentional creative focus the implementation of social hubs and centralizing developer advocacy?

The Social Hub

HoHoTo (#hohoto) has an important mandate: Unite the tech community at a niche Toronto venue and bring together industry innovators, community advocates while joining forces to raise money towards a valuable social cause.  With the flagship event having taken place in December 2008, the Toronto tech community has truly embraced this event to further emphasize the importance of community building for a shared goal.  With the target to raise $40,000 I am confident that PR folks, techies, creative types and the diverse crowd that's brought together at this event, will reach this lofty goal.  If social networking for a cause wasn't incentive enough to support HoHoTo, take a look at what Queen Rania of Jordan had to say at LeWeb conference in Paris.  Rania used the forum to engage in the discussion around the correlation between online engagement and social activism.

On Being a Creative

With the success of the IxDA Toronto – 10 Minute Soapbox that took place this past Monday at the Centre for Social Innovation, the Adobe AfterEffects TO Usergroup: Chad Perkins will be engaging in this event via Adobe Connect. Set to be a laid back and interactive affair, the organizers of the event are taking comments and questions to share with Chad and the audience during this session.

Developer Nation

You've heard of @AccordianGuy's infamous Coffee and Code that takes place in the GTA to a regular crowd of developer advocates.  Expanding its reach to touch the Guelph community, Joey Devilla, Microsoft Evangelist brings to the forefront Guelph Coffee and Code, a weekly meeting of Developers in Guelph and the surrounding area:

If you are a developer or like to code in your spare time, come join us for a 2 hour time window of work, networking, and helping out. (Wednesday December 16th 2009, 7:30pm-9:30pm at The Albion, 49 Northfork Street)
