Only 9% of Companies That Implement BYOD Save Money

BYOD is touted a company cost-saver. But is it really?

Mobile expense management company Xigo commissioned telecom industry association CCMI to carry out a study on the BYOD trend and uncovered some startling discoveries.

According to Xigo and CCMI, only 9% of businesses who have implemented BYOD have been to able to cut expenditure as a result. 67% of businesses experience no savings. And 24% actually end up spending more.

However, cost savings isn't all BYOD is supposed to have to offer. It's also about doing what the employees want. Indeed, only 15% of businesses switch to BYOD as a way to reduce expenditure. 19% do so to keep their employees happy and 17% feel it improves productivity.
