Ontario’s undiscovered video game talent might not stay undiscovered for much longer, because The McLuhan Festival of the Future’s Vortex Videogame Conference and Competition could be their ticket to wider exposure and success.
Vortex, in its sixth year, will give developers an opportunity to showcase their work and further their own knowledge about the field. Learning about the industry and submitting their ideas to major players in the Canadian videogame world will be a major focus, as will networking.
The conference’s “Boot Camp” for designers and entrepreneurs preparing a product for market should be a highlight, which will include speakers such as:
Vortex is a huge event, with elements of the conference lasting five months, from October 2010 to February 2011. The Boot Camp will kick off the event on October 27. All events are being held at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in downtown Toronto. Tickets range from $99 for students to $235 for Industry Competitors.
