open mobile logoVia Megan Cole, Vancouver's New Forms Festival is introducing a new event, Open Mobile. While similar in format and sharing some speakers from the recent MobileCamp, Open Mobile will be less technical and focused more on case studies, projects, and the application of mobile technology to communication and art. This all-day event happens September 21, 2008 at the Emily Carr Institute on Granville Island.

This day is jam-packed with experts and leaders in the field of mobile technologies and platforms presenting case-studies, the actual “this is how this was done” - the goods. This is not your average tech event - far from it. How many times to you attend something “techy” related and walk away full of great ideas and inspiration, but are left scratching your head with “how did they DO that? Where do I even begin?” The speakers and some of their session descriptions are found on the Open Mobile event page - and it’s FREE, with coffee and lunch provided for you!

For a breakdown of sessions or to register, visit the Open Mobile Eventbrite page.
