With unemployment at historic lows, finding skilled people in BC is difficult to say the least. Some might be willing to go to the ends of the Earth to find the right people. The BCTIA and the Government of BC are willing to go to merry old England for it, and invite you to come with. The Opportunities Canada EXP08 Job Fair runs November 29 & 30 in London, UK, attracting thousands of attendees interested in relocating to Canada. BC Provincial Nominee Program staff will be on site to provide immigration advisement for possible candidates. Deadline for participation is October 16, 2008; contact Richard Klassen, Program Advisor at Richard.J.Klassen[at]gov[dot]bc[dot]ca.

I went to the expo they put on in Leeds a few months back, my advice to people in the UK is - don't bother! It was a complete waste of time, severe lack of stands and those with any remote interest where so busy you would have to wait over an hour to talk to somebody. We went as my partner is trying to find nursing work but she has found way more information by phoning people and googling rather than the expo. IT wise it was pointless, not a single thing for me there.
It cost us £30 for two tickets and after a 2.5 hour journey to get there we left after 30 mins. We complained and got out money refunded but still cost us in fuel. You can find out much better information and opportunities on the net : start with this place - http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=56
I wouldn't usually rant on about anything to be honest, but just wanted to save anyone a wasted trip and money as I found out the hard way what a crap expo it is!
This seems a bit of a scam - paying to go to a job fair? Seriously, seems wrong.
Frankly, this is the kind of event the Federal and Provincial ministries should really be putting on, for free, in addition to reducing the barriers to allowing qualified talent into the country.
