This past summer the boards of the Okanagan Research & Innovation Centre (ORIC) and the Okanagan Science and Technology Council (OSTEC) voted unanimously in favour of merging OSTEC and ORIC into a single organization with the joint mandate of growing and supporting the technology sector in the Okanagan.

On December 31st they became the Accelerate Okanagan Technology Association.

The mandate of Accelerate Okanagan is to increase the number of high-growth technology companies across the Okanagan by making the region one of the best places to start and grow a technology company.

Accelerate Okanagan will focus on helping to develop and support a vibrant entrepreneurial, creative and innovative technology community throughout the Okanagan. The organization will deliver a range of programs, events and activities specifically designed to support entrepreneurs and technology companies looking to start, accelerate and grow.

Further announcements about Accelerate Okanagan's range of programs and activities, as well as members of the team, will be made in the near future.
