Ottawa company launches solar-powered charger

A new Ottawa company wants the sun to shine down on your gadgets.

KIWI Choice has launched a solar-powered charger that will power up your portable electronic devices from the sun.

The device charges itself up in sun light and once charged, can be connected to a varierty of electronics like cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players and cameras, allowing it to work as both a charger and a back-up power supply for portable gadgets.

In case of low sunlight, the KIWI U-Powered can also be charged from a USB port or a car.

The device has a suggested retail price of $49.99 and comes with 11 adapter tips for device compatibility.
