Ottawa's Shopify Brings Back Build-A-Business Competition (With a Twist)

Ottawa's Shopify has brought back its popular Build-A-Business competition where companies use the startup's e-commerce platform to build real online stores.

Each competition has gotten bigger and bigger, with the last winner, Coffee Joulies, taking home a $100,000 grand prize in February this year. The companies in the competition generated a combined $12 million in revenue in eight months using Shopify's technology.

This year's competition is slightly different. Companies will be given $50,000 plus a personal mentor to help take their businesses "to the next level." Below is an introductory video of the competition.
