OverInteractive Media acquires Mentionmapp at GROW2011

OverInteractive Media Inc. (OMI) announced yesterday that they have acquired fellow Vancouver startup Mentionmapp in a deal that was done during the GROW2011 conference.

OMI works with media and brands to develop custom social gamified marketing solutions and social television strategies.

Mentionmapp is working in the field of creative analytics and has devised a number of graph data visualization projects. Their vision is to take information beyond columns and rows, graphs and charts and create engaging interactive data stories.

OMI CEO J. Joly CEO on the acquisiton, "Mentionmapp is a great fit in terms of complementing our dimeRocker platform and filling out our team."

With visual analytics being an increasingly important part of reporting on social strategies, Mentionmapp's expertise will give OMI the ability to create easily digestible visual analytics for the creative folks in the TV and film space.

The acquisition of Mentionmapp grows OMI's headcount by two and takes them to fourteen and will accelerate the development of their client facing dashboard.

Mentionmapp was co-founded by John Gray, Daniel McLaren, and Travis Cote.
