Former 500 Startups Investor Paul Singh Wants Canadian Entrepreneurs to Be More Aggressive

Posted by Techvibes NewsBite

Paul Singh has invested in more than 500 companies, tapping well over 35 countries, including Canada, where he has made nearly two dozen startup investments.

The former 500 Startups investor, who now heads private market research company Disruption Corporation, says Canadian entrepreneurs are too reliant on government funding and lack both confidence and aggression, according to a recent interview with the Financial Post. "In my opinion [Canadian entrepreneurs] are just as good as their U.S. counterparts, and they’re just as capable of building big businesses," he says, "but for whatever reason they don’t seem to be swinging for the fences."

"The default state of their company is failure," Singh added.
